I don't think the Chrome OS is going to target us computer 
professionals, at least not for a long time.  As important as we like to 
think of ourselves, counted as a percentage of the computer using 
public, we make a very small fraction of the market.

There are a large number of people out there who uses computers for some 
very simple tasks, e-mail, internet, basic office productivity.  I 
suspect Google is hoping their OS catches the interest of that group or, 
more likely, the manufactures that make hardware for that group.
