I do get it. They weren't. I'll repeat, most founders were Christian
and the two that were believed to be deist, one believed in the same
God, he just had a problem with all the writing about Jesus.

And they did. As for the country itself they clearer didn't want the
govenrment to represent any religion. They wanted freedom to worship
any religion. It's just that Judeo-Christian religion was the most
influential.
