svn got in my way a lot more times than git has.  Can't tell you how many
time "xxxx is locked" confounded me!

I think the git toolset is probably most mature on OSX though, followed by
linux, followed a long way off by windows.  But that's more due to the move
of OS devs to linux/unix based platforms and MS devs...well staying on
windows.  git will probably always lag on windows because of the lack of
supporting tools in windows.

It's all fine with me though.  I only have two sites left on windows and I'm
working hard to move those as quick as possible.
