I believe it. I was a midfielder (halfback) and I was all over the field. Midfielders are both offense and defense. When you team has the ball...you are on the opponent's side of the field helping out the forwards. When the opponent has the ball, you drop back and help out the fullbacks. It's constant back and forth running, with none of the breaks that you have in American football. My best time in the mile at that point was 3:50. One of the requirements for the varsity team my senior year was being able to run under a 4 minute mile. Now just if I could get back to that level of fitness now ;-)
