First rule of playing sports with referrers: don't let the ref
determine the game, make sure you do.

If you get down to a place where a single call is the difference
between victory and no victory, then you're not in control and, human
beings being what they are, you are in a toss up. Make your own fate.

The US didn't play well in the first half at all. They marked
horribly. If they didn't give up the early goal (just like they have
every other match) then they wouldn't be dependent on a non-call by
the ref late in the game.

Good job by the US to come back. Slovenia isn't a slouch of a team,
they are good. And coming back from 2 down in the World Cup is very,
very impressive. I think the last time that happened was something
like 1986? It would have been great to get 3 points instead of 1 but
maybe the experience will make them mark harder from the opening
whistle against Algeria.
