I agree that it exists. > It can be subtle, or it can be blatant. It's subtle, and it's career destroying. Qualifying for a promotion and deserving the promotion are two different things. Many corporate environments I have worked in include a overwhelmingly huge number of people who are really terrible at their job. Those people, coincidentally, are frequently the most likely to get promoted (as a way to get them out of your dept). > There are many bosses, co-workers out there that would think nothing of > stabbing someone else in the back to get a foothold over or on someone else. Thus is life. And is one of the things I hated most when I worked in the corporate world. Not sure how you legislate "douchbaggery" out of people. > Many would say that is survival of the fittest. Yup. > And don't confuse this with people who are "whiners". In the corporate world, if I eliminate the whiners, and then eliminate the douchebags, and then eliminate the people who are terrible at their job. Who's left to promote? It's a pretty small group IMHO. -Cameron ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:325645 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
