The question becomes then why does at one point living in the US requires the person to agree to an American Empire.
Frankly I think that is among the nasties things that could happen to this country.An Imperial Democracy has almost never worked.If the US did go this route, it would be transformed into one of the nastiest dictatorships, both in the subject countries, and in the US itself (hey have to keep those anti-imperialists down).
