The Kindle seems to be the clear leader in my comparisons right now -
Amazon also offers an Android app (I may be getting a new phone soon
as well).

The books being available is a moot point as the books are included in
tuition and if an eBook is used, I will have access through the school
to download it.

The more I think about it, the more I think I would prefer a dedicated
eBook reader. I might be too distracted by or tempted by all the other
stuff I would have on an iPad.

Now I just need to decide if I want the larger screen. I have read
that for textbooks, the smaller screen may not be the best option.
