The article goes beyond the title, but Taleb specifically points out that President Obama has increased debt, which has exacerbated the problem. Plus, part of journalism is to create a title to garner attention. This one worked. The "no mortgage deduction" is interesting. If done away with, I don't think it would actually increase housing costs. House prices would probably drop gradually to compensate. Of course, if you're not buying a new home, you might be screwed.
