Not sure if they go to the point of slander and libel, but I think that
could be pressed. This is as bad as what was done to that lady from the
Dept of Agriculture. There is no excuse for anyone of either side to behave
like this.

Subject: Re: New Lows In Political Campaigning: Alan Grayson

"Um...duh? Power, man, power. Most people get a taste of power and they want
more. They get more and they want even more. Hence the saying 'power
corrupts'."

I know. I know.

I just think the scope of the power is what I have underestimated.

Look at Arlen Specter. He has served in the senate for 30 years and is 80
years old. He switches parties because he knows he will lose his primary.
He then trades favors with the White House so that they will convince Sestak
to drop out of the race. Sestak doesn't and Specter loses. After 30 years
of service and being an octogenarian, why does he even bother any more.
Drop out and spend some time with the grand kids.

There has to be far more to the power trip than what can be seen by the
public if people are willing to go through these kinds of hoops in order to
win.

Take away the pension and implement term limits.

Some will make the tired argument that these corruptocrats know the system
and have connections. That's the damn problem. The know how to game the
system and have too many connections.

By the way, do Grayson comments border on slander or libel? They seem awful
close.
