You mean like the Times Square Bomber? He is a naturalized citizen. Or
how about the Fort Hood shooter. Wasn't he a US citizen? If I remember
correctly, the 9/11 bombers were here on student visas.

The point being is that if the person wants to do harm to the US,
getting citizenship would not be all that difficult if it were needed.

Of all the attacks on the mainland US since the late 90's, except for
WTC 1 in 1993, and the New Years bomber caught at the Canadian border,
I cannot remember any others that involved legal residents of the US.
I don't remember the status of those arrested in Detroit in 2006 or
Lakawanna in 2004.
