No...he has always been personally against it, but realizing that not everyone is a Christian of his flavor, not everyone is against it and as an elected official, he has a duty to represent people of all faiths or lack thereof...not just he folks in his church. Religious issues do not belong in politics. He realizes that all people deserve the same rights, gay or straight, even if he does not agree with same sex couples.

So he was for it before he was against it? *********************** No...he has always been personally against it and stated it from the beginning, but realizing that not everyone is a Christian of his flavoror even a Christian at all, not everyone is against it and as an elected official, he has a duty to represent people of all faiths or lack thereof...not just he folks in his church. Religious issues do not belong in politics. He realizes that all people deserve the same rights, gay or straight, even if he does not agree with same sex couples. ************************* > I see this more so on the > conservative side of the aisle from the legislation that gets put forth by > both sides and the legislation that gets blocked. Of course you do. The blinders are working. ************* When was the last time dems voted against unemployment benefits or tax breaks for small businesses? When was the last time Republicans did that? I can think of several occasions just recently when republicans were very vocal about voting against bills that would help the lower and middle class and small businesses and were very vocal about measures that help their rich buddies. That's not blinders Sam. If anyone, it you that has blinders on since you apparently cannot see that. > I know they're biased, just too lazy to follow the money this time. > *************** > Factcheck is part of the Annenberg project that is actually part of a > conservative think tank. It's not your fathers Annenberg Project. St. Petersburg Time is a left wing paper much Like Wapo and NYT OK...so they hired Bill Ayres...it doesn't mean that they are not a conservative think tank. Bill Ayres is an educator and he was part of an educational project by the ABP. St. Petersburg times is hardly Left wing...they have received Pulitzers prizes for their work. Not something that happens to partisan hacks. ******************* > Either he is friendly to corps by giving them billions or he us > unfriendly...pick a side Kris... Yea Kris, pick a damn side! I just want to throw this in while Kris is deciding... Letting insurance and drug companies make laws wasn't what I had in mind. ********************* Neither did we, but your buddies in the Republican party pushed that stuff. If you are so against that, then why do you still support them? ********************************* > If there was no crisis (i.e. Bush didn't tank the economy and allow us to > lose millions of jobs) when Obama took over we would probably be at our > usual 3-4% unemployment...maybe even less as Clinton did. I think $5 trillion wasted proves you wrong. *********** Wasted? How's that? It stemmed the job loss and brought the jobs back to pre-Bush levels. While unemployment is still lagging, it is getting better. I can see that from the number of tech jobs coming my way. Companies are hiring. I wonder if in the numbers, they include independent contract work and other contract work? My dad, who has been an IT recruiter for years told me that a lot of companies are hiring 1099 folk because they are trying to get around paying taxes and benefits and the state labor departments are actually going after them for fraud. ************ > 1099 issue? What issue? DO you mean the one where they are more apt to > hire independent contractors to get around having to pay employment taxes > and benefits? Any purchase over $600 needs a 1099 filed. That's a lot of paperwork for all businesses and I think the need for 50k more IRS enforcers. **************** Ah...ok...or at least an electronic way of doing so, this way it can be automated. *************** > What was it like a year? > *********** > try about 5...and that lead right into another, so we never really did fully > recover Hmmm started in 2000 we started to recover and then came 9/11. The next year we were on to a full recovery. But according to you the current problem was created on Clinton's watch. ************** Nope...the bubble didn't burst until after Bush got into office followed up by a huge loss in consumer confidence after the he was given the presidency by the SCOTUS. ************** > You should be worried about how we treat our prisoners of war...as that is > how our soldiers will be treated when they are captured...not to mention if > we dont treat them justly...we will be in violation of our own laws and the > Geneva Conventions. If the left had there way we would never have a war, just surrender and they'd have no reason to not l ************* I would rather we err on the side of caution than act like John Wayne and jump into illegal conflicts that take resources away from legit ones. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:330597 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
