I'm on a Mac, using Outlook 2011, but I don't think I can be much help. The Mac infrastructure guy sets up all our machines, and he just makes it magically work with Exchange.
As to alternatives, from my year or so on Mac as a platform + having a busy calendar, there really is no substitute for Outlook. Everything else just pales in comparison. At least when using Exchange. I would take the gmail/gcal solution any day, but that's not on the table for us. :) On Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 1:59 PM, C.
