There is nothing wrong with maximizing profits, but we take it to an extreme
and it has become lets maximize profits and who care who we fuck over in the
process, instead of lets see how we can maximize profits while still making
sure we take care of our employees. If employers in general, by nature, did
the latter, then we wouldn't even have a need for unions. I think having
employee representation would be a good idea Robert. I think this constant
struggle that we have seen that has become class warefare between the rich
board members and other Executives and the middle class and lower class
workers is what has been really killing us. That does sound like a very
equitable solution to ensure that while they are looking out for #1 they
aren't smashing #2's face in ;-)

Boards in the US are duty-bound to maximize profits for shareholders, so
they are useless when the issue is off-shoring labor.

Says something about the continued success of Germany's manufacturing
industry. Their corporate boards include employee (labor) representation.
