Okay I need honest opinions here. I've got 5 dev laptops that I'm going to wipe because I'm tired of spinning around all day while testing software since some is production, some are new betas etc and they can't exist on the same machine. Well some can but then I have to keep track of ports being used by each piece to not cause conflicts.
I just got a brand new 64 bit laptop with 6gig of memory and want to setup a machine that can do virtual machines so if its ubuntu like everyone talks about I can run two windows 7 sessions if I need to or a windows server and xp session or whatever combination. I know one vendor I'm working with is using VMWare to do this and told me to get that.
