It's more about knowledge than social interaction. More reminiscent
of writers salons than the water cooler. People I talk to on Twitter
- authors, songwriters, film critics, politicians, newscasters,
friends, family, business associates. By talk to, I mean that I
respond to their tweets, and often they will answer me. Direct
one-on-one communication about topics that are important to me with
people who are plugged into the topics in a big way. Imagine being
able to have a conversation with an author about a scene in his book
that you don't understand and have him explain - within five minutes.

It is also my news and weather feed, direct stories from people
involved in stuff like the earthquake in Japan and the Egyptian and
Wisconsin protests. Straight from the horses mouth in ways that MSM
can never deliver. Also, entertainment calendars for the artists that
I follow.

I also get a ton of good technical info. I've learned more about
HTML5 and jQuery by looking that the examples from the twitter feeds
than from any other source.
