The Continental Congress awarded him a land grant in lieu of payment for his service. That land is still in the family, handed down through many generations. Tell me why my kids should have to pay tax on the value of that land when I die and they inherit. What "representation" does that tax earn them that is not already granted to those who do not inherit?
