The hospital I went to a couple of years ago charged me $30/pill for metformin. If I were to go to Walgreens and buy it without insurance, it would cost me about .68/pill. I complained to the State Attorney General's office and they won't do anything, claiming it's the market price...well yeah...it's called price collusion.

The number of non-payers at the hospital where I had my surgery is extremely low, and insurance companies pay malpractice settlements. Yet they charged me 15 dollars for an aspirin, and they paid a tidy shareholder profit so they are much more than breaking even. Still can't figure out those of you on the right are ok with corporate gouging, but choke on helping the poor. Can you explain it?
