I see it more as bucking culture. Let's put our children through hell
and see who they blame for it, us or society.

There's no problem not conforming and trying to stand out amongst your
peers, as long as it's your decision and not your parents.

I heard the kid doesn't understand why he's being called a girl but
the parents won't help him unless he asks for specifics ie cut hair,
guidance on what cloths a boy should wear etc.. (note: I didn't read
that, someone told me that so it could be from a different story)
If that's the case they're just being selfish fools.
