Back in the day, joining the army was a consideration for me due the cost of college. A friend's father was a colonel in the National Guard. He took me to Fort Brag with him one weekend for duty. I got to fire an RPG and a Howitzer. That was pretty intense. Alas, it was an artillery unit so there were no sniper rifles. That would have been cool.
