Except for the fact that most people don't believe their invisible friend
created the universe word for word as the old testament, or any other
religious documents for that matter, describes it. Most religious people
don't believe their invisible friend of choice had a hand in it, but used
natural forces to move things along and thus there is no conflict with
evolution.

They don't? I know of a hypocrisy that threatens the education of hundreds
of millions of people across the world.

Or, as I said, they believe that the science is wrongly applied or wrongly
interpreted.

They do get to claim that the theory is a theory and can be modified and/or
supplanted by better theories when they become available.

But just for a second, lets take a step back and define who these
creationists your talking about are. Are they people who believe in God?
Those who believe that God created reality? Those who believe that 6000
actual 24 hour days went into creation? I know I belong to 2 of those
categories. Replace God with "Goddess/Allah/Jesus/Zeus/the Force/etc." and
you may cover most people on earth.
