I've given Pages and Numbers (Apple's answer to Word and Excel) a spin and
while I can't say I love them, I hate them at the same level that I hate
Word and Excel. I also use heavily Google Docs. Both can open Word docs
just fine. I haven't used Access in forever and don't even have Word
installed anywhere anymore I don't think.

I also use Google Calendaring, which now has features for allowing clients
to see busy/open times publicly. Also within an organization it can do
meeting coordination the same way Exchange does.

Word, Excel, Publisher, etc are fine too if you like them. They definitely
get the job done.. I just have found them not to be the same "must have"
software that it once was.
