Depends on what you mean by "the right" Governor Perry praised the action.
Ron Paul did not. I haven't heard much condemnation from "the right", other than some Ron Paul grumblings and from some of the far, far right loonies who would always find fault. I think most Republicans I know would approve of this move...even if they don't like admitting it.
