Atlanta has a history of handling protests well.  No riots in the 60s.
Almost all of the violence came from the other side, like when The Temple
was bombed after a dinner was planned to honor Martin Luther King, Jr when
he won the Peace Prize, and the firebombing of the offices of the
alternative newspaper, The Specked Bird.   For many years, the slogan for
Atlanta was "A City Too Busy to Hate".  I'd like to think that is still
true.
