You know I wrote a business plan, got it approved by a non-profit that help small businesses get started and never used it other than when I made the wife own the business and we got certified as a women owned business and qualified for people to come ask us since govt and state contracts require a % to go to small businesses. I never won any of these contracts but this was part of my free advertising plan. The only other advertising we did was join the chamber of commerce. We were in business and worked with Erika for over 9 yrs. We technically still are in business but I narrowed down the field. I did anything IT and had up to 5 employees at one time with an office but the wife who was doing the books decided it was easier to build relationships with other businesses and sub it out to people we had a contract with and could trust. Less accounting and hassle. I just had to do customer follow ups. But then last year we let the subs take over and I'm doing "specialty" work right now. I have a plan in my head and so far its working... For what its worth.. if you want to pick my brain its wide open.. (except for my NDA and patent intel :) ).
