I just bought a blood pressure monitor today as I am going to be taking
advantage of some of the VA's Tele-Health options now that I have moved out
to a few blocks east of the middle of nowhere. This device can connect to
the Microsoft health vault. It's a free online service that lets you store
medical data and has "connectors" for various devices (like my blood
pressure monitor, One Touch glucose meters (one of the more advanced meters
that the VA doesn't use grr), etc) as well as health sites like the Mayo
Clinic health manager. It even works with the VA's MyHealtheVet website's
new BlueButton feature that allows you to dl a listing of all your meds,
appointments, lab results, etc. has anyone else used this? I think it is
pretty cool and really goes in the right direction as far as were we need to
go with medical records. Imagine a system where you doctor can access all
of your records from his computer.or if he is a techie.from his tablet or
iPhone/Android (I do have to give props to the iPhone for the bant
application for diabetes management.I wish that was on the droid. I do give
credit where credit is due grumble grumble.) to see your medical history and
med.or if you are travelling and you get sick or injured and you are in the
ER.docs there can access your records as well via the internet. Cool shit
;-) I just wish my glucose meter worked with it. Much to my
endocrinologists chagrin.I can never remember to grab my meter or the
results when I go for an appointment with her. This would be an awesome way
to be able to get her the info she needs and not have to worry about
remembering shit. Scary thing is I am only 43 and I am already forgetting
stuff.ah it's going to be fun getting old.
