We use it for all our projects. Most of the time it's just one or two
people working in a codebase at any given time. We have maybe 40
repositories for various projects. We use trunk for all projects, and tags
for any projects that have an organized release schedule or otherwise have
"releases" we can easily identify.

I've used VisualSVN before and it's super easy to administer, It can even
tie into Windows accounts IIRC. Currently, we use UnFuddle as a hosted
solution and it's pretty rock solid and very self-service. your
environment may or may not allow for outside services, but UnFuddle is
worth looking at if it's allowed - it's more than just SVN.
