Without a doubt. It is a huge service used by lots and lots of companies. Pricing can be tough a bit tough to predict as it all depends on your useage. At a lowish level of useage it can be more expensive than some options but it starts to be much more attractive at higher utilization. The big thing, though, is that it can scale up and down easily to meet your needs. So if you build a site with the idea in mind that you can easily drop in and take out server instances, you can scale up for those "slashdot" happenings and then scale it back down when the traffic spikes are over. The flexibility is wonderful that way.
I've got one app running on AWS thus far and it has been nice to work with. I recommend it certainly.
