"No, Jerry, you see what you want to see. I'd ask you to go back and reread
but you don't care, so why bother? "

You're right. Why bother? I was thinking of implementing a program named
"No Progressive Left Behind." If this is how's it's going to be, I am
definitely going to have to drop that idea.

"I made one comment about Regan doing incredible harm to the country and
then further supported it with a very long list of instances. Instead of
trying to rebut any of the instances, you went after LBJ"

*Who said I wanted to rebut them? I didn't defend Reagan.* I did say he
destroyed the Soviet Block. That's it.

Here are your words:

"And let us remember that Ronald Regan was a fucking jerk who did more to
harm this country than anyone in a long long time. "

Judah, when an ordinary person says something is the worst in a "long long
time", it is inviting debate. Apparently, when dealing with a progressive
statist, it means end of discussion, at least to the progressive statist.
"I have spoken and so shall it be."

"Fine, you think (without rebutting any of the points I made as positives
of the LBJ admin) that
LBJ was a horrible president"

No need to rebut them. I was giving the issues that I think made him worse
than Reagan.

In the end, it seems that you think one of the following:

LBJ was a "long long time" before Reagan

or

LBJ did not do as much harm to the country as Reagan.

If the latter, that means you either:

Don't care that that the Great Society exacerbated or created the problems
facing the Black community today

Or

LBJ's Great Society did not create or exacerbate the problems facing the
Black Community today

If you think the latter, then you are in disagreement with Thomas Sowell
and Walter Williams. Since both are Black, lived through the entire
existence of the Great Society, and have a lifetime of experience and study
regarding the issue, I'll take their opinions.

It's all good either way. You are entitled to your opinion.

"Distract, divide, avoid...blah blah blah. It's a tired schtick, Jerry."

Judah, if you don't want to reply, don't. If you don't want to see my
messages, skip over them, or block my emails. You do not have to tolerate
my schtick. I highly encourage you to do whatever will make your life
easier and better (as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others).

No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs,
once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the
nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! - Ronald Reagan

The assumption that spending more of the taxpayer's money will make things
better has survived all kinds of evidence that it has made things worse.
The black family- which survived slavery, discrimination, poverty, wars and
depressions- began to come apart as the federal government moved in with
its well-financed programs to "help." - Thomas Sowell

The civil rights struggle is over, and it has been won. At one time, black
Americans did not have the same constitutional protections as whites. Now,
we do, because the civil rights struggle is over and won is not the same as
saying that there are not major problems for a large segment of the black
community. What it does say is that they're not civil rights problems, and
to act as if they are leads to a serious misallocation of resources. -
Walter Williams
