I have no idea why this thread reminded me of this but... A string walks into a bar, plops down on a stool and orders a drink. The bartender walks over, points to a sign on the wall which proclaims that no service will be given to strings, and asks the string to please leave.
The next day, the same string walks into the bar, sits down and orders a drink. The bartender, now somewhat belligerent, walks over, points again to the sign and says "look, I told you yesterday - we don't serve strings! Now, get out before I call the cops." The string gets up and leaves. The next day, the string walks into the bar and proceeds with the same ritual - he sits at the bar and orders a drink. The bartender, now burning with rage, walks up the to string and yells "This is the last time I'm gonna tell you - we don't serve strings!"
