Bye. Of course, I happen to agree with him. The mindset, in 1995 Washington DC, of young "urban" youth towards guns was a big issue, and needed to to be changed. Using the same marketing techniques that were being employed BY the destructive drug and gang (and music) culture AGAINST that same culture made good sense. Do you think that all the kids with guns in DC in the mid 90s was a good idea? Did you want to change the behavior of those gang kids? I certainly did, from afar, without much real caring. He DIDN'T say he wanted to take all guns away. He didn't say he wanted to take guns from any adult. He didn't even say he wanted to take guns away from gang members. "What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that's not cool, that it's not acceptable, it's not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes." I guess I don't see where that statement is that bad. Can you explain it to me?
