That would be correct.  You have to be able to prove that your life or
someone else's life was in danger.  I just can't cap a guy for stealing
my stereo.

I was under the impression that protection of property does not legaly
justify the use of deadly force.  I.E. you shoot some guy for trying to
steal your stereo and you are probably going to jail.
