Collecting the wisdom of the list once again. My wife, daughter and I are heading to DC. We'll be there from August 17th to August 29th so my wife can help a friend of ours give birth (my wife is a doula). The friends we are helping out live in old town Alexandria and I've been scouting some places in the area on AirBnB.com I'm looking for a place to rent for a week that would be relatively comfortable for a couple and a 5 year old. Anyone have any suggestions on places to look besides AirBnB?
Beyond that, what else should we do while in town? I've got a couple old friends in DC that we'll be seeing and I plan on hitting some of my favorite museums while there, like the Air and Space, National Art Gallery, Natural History Museum, etc. However, I haven't been to DC since 1990, so I imagine that there is plenty I don't know about. I'd especially like suggestions that would amuse a smart 5 year old. My daughter likes the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry a whole lot (she had to dragged out of the physics lab yesterday), the zoo, anything to do with dinosaurs, science, crafting, animals...ok, she likes most everything. And I know that we have at least a couple folks on the list in the DC area. Anyone want to meet up for a beverage or three? cheers, Judah ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:352482 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
