Not in this career. But back in the day when I built Airbrakes and
reconditioned locomotives I was named shop manager and fired 6 people that
very morning. It wasn't hard I called them all over walked them to the time
clock and said go home. They were worthless and did nothing but smoke
cigarettes and tie up the line with their bitch'n about "they got to do all
the work while the inspectors and parts crew stay clean and cool all day
long". They just couldn't figure it out that all of us had done the
something they were doing and when we are standing around we are waiting on
them.

Subject: I had to fire someone :(

*sigh*
Yesterday was a bad day for me.

I had to fire someone. The kid that was working at my offices in Trinidad
for like 7 months. Just couldn't deal with his attitude anymore, and we were
losing money because of him..so I really had no choice..but..it still felt
really bad.

It was the first time I had to do that...and I KNOW I tried...I must have
spent over a dozen hours in those 7 months talking to the guy. But he just
would not change...:-\

I guess I will get over it, but it was still a tough thing to do.
Anyone else have to do that?
