They believe the Pope is an extension of God on Earth. The Cardinals, when electing the Pope, are to pray and meditate and to look for divine inspiration. They are vessels through which God is to appoint his next leader on Earth. The Pope is NOT infallible on normal matters of discussion....but CAN be infallible when speaking "Ex Cathedra" (think i got that right). This is not a "power" used very often by Popes...but Catholic doctrine holds it out to be a power that DOES exist. This is how i've always understood it to be. Happy to be taught otherwise if I've got it wrong.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:360860 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
