I quit believing around 13 years old. I went through the motions for my Mom who was very devout. I'm confirmed, but chose my GodParent because he was a non-believer also (it was only known to a very few).
To me, it was the same as when I stopped believing in the easter bunny, tooth fairy & santa clause. You just start to realize, none of that makes any sense. Nowadays, I only step into a church for a wedding occasionally and the Mardi Gras casino night! Catholics do know how to party.
