So let me ask a dumb question......if a person dislikes many or most or
even some of the platform of the Republican/Democratic party, but likes one
or two primary issues they focus on......WHY register for that party???? Is
it solely to vote in their primaries in closed states?????

that's the part i don't get.

"Well, i hate everything about the republicans...except their pro life...so
i'll register Republican!"

WHY!?!?!?!??! Register independent so you don't unnecessarily soil your
name, and vote for whatever candidate matches most closely with your
beliefs!?!?!
