"Put yourself in the place of these 'sorry pieces of shit', who's only crime was being born in a shitty country. They look at the immigration process, that you mention is an absolute mess. They are dirt poor, they can't feed their families...and they look at this awesome country we have here. They have every desire and ability to work. They want nothing more than to be a decent, hard working member of a society that WORKS. "
Just because they want a better life does not make it okay for them to circumvent the rules to come here. They can "want" all day long and should try to make things better for their family. If these attempts do not break laws in their country or ours, more the better. Your line of reasoning is very dangerous. It comes close to justify any kind of crime out of the desire to make one's life better. My life would be some much better if I had a pair of Air Jordans so I am going to shoot that punk ass kid over there and take his. "You shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops to get your wife a green card...and maybe neither should some of these other people" Why shouldn't an immigrant have to jump through hoops. Again, desire is not enough to warrant a green card. In the past, immigrants were allowed in by what they could contribute to our society. They were let in at a pace small enough to allow assimilation. This changed in the 1960's. Does the US really need another ditch digger from a third world country or would we rather have the biostatistician from Taiwan?
