I get really tired of this trope. Illegal immigrants cannot get
welfare, at least not without forged documents.

I hear you on the legal immigrant thing, mind you. I am in the
category, remember, and just went through a HUGE amount of bullshit
replacing a green card after my purse got stolen. Still. The root of
that is the sort of xenophobic rant you just emitted. Illegal
immigrants are a dog that it is ok to kick.

I'll leave you with one fun fact: if you are let's say a waiter in
Mexico who wants to immigrate legally, your time on the waiting list
can be estimated at something like 75 years.

Current immigration law is fucked, and I am someone it semi-works for.
