"This stuff is consistent from the GOP leadership." No it's not. It's the stuff you look for. When your google search is "Dumb things said by Republicans," it's what you get.
" If a Democrat said this, or anyone else in public office, I'd be as shocked (more so, because it's what I expect to read coming from the GOP)" Please. You really expect us to believe that. "And everytime someone from that party says something, you say 'Well it's just one guy'...how many guys and gals does it take before it becomes the majority and the defacto party line?" It's not my party. I have resigned from the Republican Party due to their insistance on putting forth Democrats for public office. As for the one guy scenario., prove it. Show me that a majority of the GOP has said something complete ridiculously. Also prove to me that a majority of the Democrat Party has refrained. It's not possible. "Doesn't it scare you that these folks could be the next "'leaders of the free world' ?" And the current President's leadership policies don't scare you? Do you follow world politics? J - And I want to say to my colleagues that I stand here asking us to do what we did not do in Vietnam. Was to recognize the valiant and outstanding service of our men and women. And to understand that victory had been achieved. Today we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working. We may not agree with all North Vietnam is doing, but they are living in peace. I would look for better human rights record for North Vietnam, but they're living side by side. Because that was a civil war. And because the leadership of this nation did not listen to the mothers and fathers who borned the burden of 58,000 dead and did not declare victory, the mounting death, the violence continued going up and up.
