The CURRENT Democratic party is NOT the party of racism at all.
So you can talk about centuries past, it is irrelevant to the current
reality.

It is just a clever way to try to reframe the circumstances, that is
failing miserably.
It fails and these issues keep popping up throughout GOP constituencies
because the common thread is one of racism within the elected leaders of
the party.
It's there, and that's why these issues keep happening. If it wasn't there,
these issues would not occur with such frequency.
It's common sense.

This doesn't mean that all members of the GOP are racist, but there is
certainly a strong dose of it in those elected as leaders.
So talking about decades ago the Democrats stood for X, and we stood for Y
is irrelevant to what it stands for NOW.

Racism is everywhere, and it's always an ugly thing, but you cannot excuse
something or claim it isn't there simply because you support a party.
