FOr me it is like an intelligentsia based social network. There are experts, and people with experience in fields responding to questions posed by the public. Most of the times their views are insightful and the community votes fairly on which items rise to the top of the answer pile.
My biggest problem is that there isn't a way to just Browse Quora to find topics of interest that you may not be directly looking for.
