Most of them are indoor antennas. I didn't do much research before buying one. I found one on sale at CostCo and bought it. Works fine. We tape it to a window and get every channel - though we are very close to most of the signals in Atlanta already. We even have one on the TV in the bathroom (I watch the news in the morning while getting ready) and it's deep inside the building with no window line of sight.
