The crap about Benghazi and the IRS really pisses me off because the political haymakers are making up completely bogus claims while ignoring real issues in those very same areas.
Benghazi is a real tragedy. Is there anything about the administration aiding terrorists? Is there any coverup where they are trying to protect terrorists? No. That's all bullshit. But there is a real scandal there, which is that our diplomatic security is really not what it needs to be. Chris Stevens is not the first diplomat to die and he won't be the last due to the lack of security. But is the national conversation about what actually killed our diplomat and what we can do to prevent that from happening? No, it's not. The IRS "scandal" is more made up shit. Did the IRS go to town and savage tea party groups? No, they did not. But there is a real scandal there, which is that we are giving non-profit tax status, under 501 C(4), to large numbers of blatantly political groups who are injecting huge amounts of largely untraceable cash into making our political system even more crass and awful than it already is. Time and again, groups are taking actual scandals and making them entirely about something else because they don't care about the real scandal, they just care about what kind of political points they can score with it if they twist coverage to their advantage. Sickening.
