Extremists nut jobs, says who? Innocent until proven guilty.
Freedom of speech. Self determination. Self ownership. You are basically saying you're cool with violating due process and other individual rights for various nebulous reasons that aren't crimes. We are actually being oppressed. It's just a very light handed approach most of the time. The silk gloved, surveillance based police state is here and it is real. Gun toting officers can jail, hurt or kill you over such horrors as raw milk, collecting rain water, growing any one of a number of plants, fishing on public land without a piece of paper. Cops themselves are breaking the law all the time and getting away with it. People are frustrated as Hell from all walks of life. We created this system to fight terrorists, but now you are eight times likely to be killed by an officer than by a terrorist. As far as I'm concerned the extremists are the ones trying to legislate outside the limits imposed by the constitution, and they are the ones pushing us closer to violence. For real nut jobs we already have a legal competency and commitment process, it's just never followed.
