The idea of a free market "governing" itself is an economic theory, not a political or sociological one.
Supply and demand setting the price and tending towards equilibrium.....works. Whatever regulations and vigilance must be done to ensure supply and demand are the actors in this dynamic, should be employed. But if you allow the market to work....it succeeds.
