This is what I posted then, with the dates I said it. Haven't revised my opinions very much. (edited for brevity, grammar, and to remove irrelevant comments)
11/18/05 - I cannot in my wildest imagination imagine any scenario where Iraq will be stablized. Regardless of when we leave, chaos is going to erupt. 01/28/06 - The troops who are currently in Iraq aren't fighting for your rights, they are waging an unnecessary war for the wrong reasons. Nothing that happens there will make you any safer or any freer. Nothing that happens there will prevent another terrorist attack on the US. The best way to support those troops would be to bring them home, and to make sure they are never again deployed by meglomaniacal, greedy liars. 05/25/06 - As for Iraq, it is a mess for sure. I suspect if we wait for a stable government to replace Saddam, we may be there for many, many years. I suspect the next president will find himself with many of the same problems that Nixon did in trying to end the Vietnam war.
