I was thinking it signalled the population's sentiments and an indicator
for 2016 election period.

And, I think the Democrats are incompetent when it comes to politics. Like
it or not, they have to start playing the GOP game.

Long before next midterms we're going to be seeing decisions needing to be
made on net neutrality, surveillance, encryption, immigration and other key
points
that have implications beyond the US borders. We can also consider
environmental policies as well, that yes will have effects outside the US
but local laws and
policies would have a larger effect in any country in this region.

Hopefully the repealing of the ridiculous marijuana and prison laws
continues State by State without interference from a GOP congress. That
seems to be having a spillover effect in the Caribbean, with Jamaica
effectively decriminalising personal marijuana use.

Still, it was a bit disappointing. Money and PR rules, what congressmen
actually do over their term seems to not matter for anything. It's biggest
and most recognisable in US politics (because of strong impact of US media)
but it's sadly becoming the norm in other countries too.
