Cool, my mom graduated from Mount Vernon in the fifties . :)

They've also remodeled American History and there's not as much there, the
entire computer exhibit is gone and the entire west side of the museum is
still under construction. I think the best bet to keep the kids occupied is
Air and Space.

They've opened a distilerry at Mount Vernon, you can buy products but they
are very expensive,  There are no tastings on the tour but you can sample
at the Inn at Mt Vernon.

I've never been to the Newseum so I'm not much help there. On the plus side
the Washington Monument is open again after repairs and some remodeling
after the earthquake a couple of years ago. If you get a chance to go to
the National Building Museum, I understand that there is a lot for kids to
do there.
