Been reading and watching and listening, and I just thought I'd throw an opinion in the mix. Been exposed at one point or another to everything that's been discussed and the one thing I think we need to be more conscious of these days is the fact that everyone's kids might be going to kindergarten or 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade etc ... And their classmates may be children of same sex parents. So when the little 1st grader comes home and says "Daddy! Little Billy doesn't have a mom and a dad! He's got 2 daddies!! And they act just like you and mom do! They came and picked Billy up from class today and they had their arms around each other when they were leaving. And I saw them kiss after they put Billy in the car." ... What do you say to your child? Of course it is up to the parents to raise their children how they see fit, and parenting is trial by fire anyway I believe. I just think we all need to keep a very open mind about some of this ... And be aware that the scenario could happen. I think we all come from such diverse areas ... That some of this may not be so prevelant in some areas ... But if you lived in NYC ... I think there is a higher percentage of same sex couples than say a suburban town in Texas ... Where the topic is low on the priority list. And the bottom line is we really can't tell each other what to do, think or feel ...
